Wake up and start running! Don't just lie there...get the inspiration you need to make the most of those precious morning hours. Get out and get fit...

Start Working Out Early

Some people are night owls and like working out later in the day. Others like getting up at the crack of dawn and schedule their workout for early in the morning. If you are one of those that like working out in the morning, but find that your motivation is lacking, here are some tips to get you motivated to hit the iron early in the day.

It can be hard to get out of bed early to workout, but it it is well worth it if you find the motivation.

An early morning workout really sets you up for the day.

Testosterone is Higher in the Morning

One way to get yourself motivated to work out early in the day is take advantage of higher testosterone levels. Testosterone levels in men fluctuate throughout the day. Testosterone is highest in the morning and gradually decreases throughout the day. By taking advantage of these high T-levels, you will be able to maximize the amount of muscle you gain.

Get It Out of the Way

Working out in the morning allows you to get your workout done and get it out of the way. The rest of your day will be spent either at work, school or just hanging out with friends and family. You won’t have to wonder about how or when you’re going to get your workout completed because you’ve already finished it.

More Energy All Day

Morning workouts have the added benefit of boosting your energy levels for the entire day. After a workout, your metabolism is higher and your mind is more alert.

This is a great way to start the day. When you go to work or school, you will be more focused, positive and more productive. This can only benefit you in the long run with the potential of getting a higher salary, better paying job or better grades.

You Will Have Fewer Distractions

If you go to the gym in the wee hours of the morning, chances are you will not have to face a crowded gym. This benefits you in a number of ways. For one thing, you will have easier access to gym equipment.

You won’t have to stand by and wait until someone else finishes using the squat rack, leg press or smith machine. The gym will be practically yours to use as you wish. This means you will be able to give your complete attention to your workout.

Another benefit of having fewer distractions is the amount of time it will take you to complete your workout. When there is no crowd at the gym, you can hit the weights, cardio machines or whatever you want quickly. You can do your exercise and then get out of the gym fast. Working out in the morning will save you time.

Fasted Training

Although many bodybuilding gurus advocate eating a meal before you work out with weights, it is possible to strength train in a fasted state in the morning. Upon rising, you can simply have a cup of coffee and then hit the weights.

The benefits of fasted training include increased loss of body fat with no loss in lean mass, increased insulin sensitivity (which lets your body burn more fat on a consistent basis) and higher uptake of nutrients when you finish working out.

When you complete training in the fasted state and then have your post-workout protein drink, your body will be screaming for those nutrients. They will be immediately used to help you build more muscle.

Not only will you be building greater mass, but you will also enjoy your food more. Eating a meal after a hard workout can be good, but after fasting all night and then adding a strength training session to the mix, your post-workout protein shake will taste like a gourmet meal.

You Won’t Get Sidetracked

A mid-afternoon or late-evening workout session is something that may not happen. If you plan to work out during lunch, your boss may suddenly call a meeting or a report may need to be created. You may need to skip lunch to work because someone called out sick or…well, you get the picture. Anything can happen.

A late evening workout session can be cut short or eliminated by an invitation to have drinks with friends, or some emergency may arise at home.

But if you are waking up early in the morning, the chances of all these surprises occurring is minimal. Usually everyone else is still asleep and even if they are awake, you can get away, complete your workout and call it a day.

Getting motivated to complete your bodybuilding workout can be challenging at any time of the day, but the challenge increases for those who like to work out in the morning.

If you focus on the benefits of working out in the morning like increased testosterone levels, higher energy levels all day and the potential to increase body fat loss, you will get motivated and stay that way.
